Christmas in Kelowna is beautiful. The weather is mild, there's a ski hill nearby, and there are plenty of great things to do with the family to help keep everyone occupied over the long break. Here are some of our suggestions of things to do with your loved ones over the holidays.

  1. Skating at Stuart Park

Skating at this lakeside, outdoor ice rink is free! Plus, for the first time ever, skate rentals are being offered at the popular attraction through Bladez Skate Shop ($4.50 for adults, $3.75 for kids). This is great if your visiting guests don't have skates but still want to partake in the festive holiday fun.

  2. Tubing at Big White
Few things say “inner-child” and “Christmas” quite like tobagganing. The Mega Snow Coaster Tube Park at Big White Ski Resort gives children of all ages a chance to whiz down the hills in an inflatable tube for hours of adrenaline-pumping, grin-inducing, frosty fun. A full day tube and skate pass is $18 for ages 6 & up and free for children aged 5 and under.

  3. Christmas Light Walk

There are plenty of beautiful neighbourhoods in Kelowna, and many offer a great chance to take in the festive lights of Christmas. We recommend Kettle Valley, Black Mountain, and Candy Cane Lane (Located on Mary Court off Gramiak Road), though there are great light displays and neighbourhoods everywhere, so grab some hot chocolate, take a drive, and see what you find.

  4. Pretend You're On The Beach
Trekking outside in the cold isn't for everybody, but H2O Adventure + Fitness Centre is. This popular attraction offers a great pool with “lazy river”, wave pool, and water slides. There's also a Flowrider, allowing you and the kids to try your hand at surfing – don't worry, everyone falls the first few times.

  5. Burn Off Some Energy
If you have energetic kids (aren't they all?), then you need to check out the EnergyPlex. This great facility is basically a giant indoor jungle gym with climbing structures, a rock climbing wall, trampolines, and laser tag.

Enjoy your time with family and friends this season and be sure to create some warm, lasting memories. Merry Christmas!
